Choreography Projects
At SEDA, we strive to provide performance opportunities and to showcase our Choreographer’s works and works-in-progress. This season we will be offering projects at various times to provide additional creative experiences. Dancers participate by being involved in the creation and performance of a Contemporary dance piece created by one of Seda Dance’s Teachers or Guest Choreographers. SEDA showings will be scheduled based on pieces ready for performance and some pieces may be selected for the SEDA performance in June. Choreography projects are rehearsal based with no classwork or warm up. Dancers must apply for each project and are subject to approval by choreographer. Regular attendance is a must.

Advanced Contemporary Choreography Project

Group piece “PUSH” studying influence; how we accept or deny influence in our lives in a demanding environment

Letting go! Breaking! Splitting apart! How does the human psyche
navigate this force in our lives. We will explore the explosive and expansive
of these concepts to create a dynamic yet personal piece.

Time: Saturdays 4-5:30pm
Rehearsal Dates: Oct 24-Dec 5 @ Seda studio + likely one “dress rehearsal” weekend of Dec 11

Inspired by the wildflowers that bloom across west coast landscapes, the
choreography will look closely at a root system that makes renewal
possible after devastation.
Workshop participants will have an opportunity to directly integrate tools
from the previous workshop series, deepening their relationship to the
ideas and questions behind the process.
