All Classes Drop-In friendly until spring break, after spring break a portion of performance classes will be dedicated to rehearsal, drop-ins accepted as long as practical.

Intro to Contemporary

Tuesday 7:15-8:15pm with Kathy & Katie @ Oaklands

An introductory level class for the true beginner.

From floor to flying! A class of dynamic and organic movement based on the fusion of contemporary techniques using weight, path, and space. We will take you through the basic patterns of a contemporary class including floor work, patterns across the floor and engaging movement exploration. Get ready to dance, sweat and laugh!

This class will be offered as a short sessional throughout the year and is not part of full-year registration. Dancers from this intro class may choose to join other beginner classes after this sessional.

FALL: Sep 15 - Oct 20 (6 weeks) - $135 +GST

Beginner 1 non performance

Mondays 6:15-7:30pm with Kathy & Katie

No experience required, dancers should be able to access the floor and standing movement. From floor to flying! A class of dynamic and organic movement based on the fusion of contemporary techniques using weight, path, and space. We will offer basic concepts and exciting choreography. A great class for those who want to reinforce the basics.

This class will be offered as a sessional or by full year registration and is a progressive class fro September to June. As this class is non-performance, it will remain Drop-in Friendly all year long.

Saturdays 1:30-2:45pm with rotating artists including Kathy Lang, Katie Wertz & Elya Grant

Minimal experience required, dancers should be able to access the floor and standing movement. From floor to flying! A class of dynamic and organic movement based on the fusion of contemporary techniques using weight, path, and space. We will offer basic concepts and exciting choreography. A great class for those who want to reinforce the basics.

This class will be offered as a sessional or by full year registration, the level will adjust to those who attend, while choreography and focus will change each week. As this class is non-performance, it will remain Drop-in Friendly all year long.

Beginner 2 performance

Thursdays 7:45-9:15pm with Kathy ft Stacey

Minimum 2 years dance experience, dancers should be able to access the floor and standing movement.

Minimum 3 years of dance experience. Dancers are recommended to participate in 2-3 classes per week.

We will take you through a soft floor warm up, a flowing detailed technique centre practice, and lots of engaging choreography and movement exploration.

This is a progressive class from September to June ending with a performance and is offered by full year registration only - performers required to register for both classes, registered dancers are expected to Perform and must give notice by January 10th if planning to opt out. Drop-in friendly til Spring Break, after spring break a portion of class will be dedicated to Rehearsal, drop-ins accepted as long as practical.

Open Intermediate non performance

Fridays 4:30-6:00pm with Peter

Minimum 3 years of dance experience. Dancers are recommended to participate in 2-3 classes per week.

Minimum 4 years of dance experience. Dancers are recommended to participate in 2-4 classes per week.From floor to flying! We will take you through a soft floor warm up, a flowing detailed technique centre practice, and lots of engaging choreography and movement exploration.This class will be offered as sessional or by full year registration, the level will adjust to those who attend, while choreography and focus will change each week. As this class is non-performance, it will remain Drop-in Friendly all year long.

Advanced 1 performance

Mondays 7:30-9:00pm with Kathy Lang & Katie Wertz, Wednesdays 4:45-6:15pm with Kathy Lang

Minimum 6 years of dance experience and strong dance background required; must be able to navigate a complex class. Dancers are recommended to participate in 3-6 classes a week as well as Ballet classes.

Strengthen your floor work, fly in the air and expand your vocabulary in this physically challenging and choreographic technique class.

This is a progressive class from September to June ending with a performance and is offered by full year registration only - performers required to register for both classes, registered dancers are expected to Perform and must give notice by January 10th if planning to opt out. Drop-in friendly til Spring Break, after spring break a portion of class will be dedicated to Rehearsal, drop-ins accepted as long as practical.

Advanced 2 non performance

Tuesdays 9:30-11:00am & Saturdays 12:00-1:30pm with rotating artists including Kathy Lanf, Katie Wertz & Elya Grant

Semi - Professional. Dancers are expected to have a strong technical base and navigate a complex class. Dancers are expected to be training and working at an advanced level.

Class will support technical training, varying conceptual work, exploration of dynamic range. Strengthen your floor work, move huge, indulge your fine work, and expand your vocabulary in this physically and choreographic technique class. This class is scheduled to offer Third Canvas Dance Company and other professionals a great class before rehearsal or performance.

This class will be offered by full year registration only and is a progressive class from September to June. As this class is non-performance, it will remain Drop-in Friendly all year long. Performance Opportunities to be offered outside of class time.

Seda Dance is pleased to be able to offer additional Choreographic Projects throughout the year. Get Involved with the creation and performance of a Contemporary dance piece created by one of Seda Dance’s Teachers or Guest Choreographers.
